History

  • Our history begins in 1907, when Belgian academic Auguste-Joseph de Bray is appointed to head the new School. He has been followed by nine other directors. Courses begin in the School's first building, at the corner of Viger and Saint-Hubert streets.

Housing services

  • Visit the HEC Online bulletin board for housing offers (in French) at HEC en Ligne. The site is an excellent starting point for your search. You may perform a search based on the number of rooms, the price and the closest metro stop, etc.

Library services

  • The Myriam et J.-Robert Ouimet library spans more than 5000 square metres of space, has a seating capacity of 710 seats and receives more than 430 000 visits per year. 
  • The library mission is to provide the HEC Montréal community with relevant and up-to-date documentation services.

  • Videoconference environments and rearrangeable classrooms with cutting-edge multimedia infrastructure

Medical services

  • HEC Montréal students can benefit from some services offered to the general public by the Service aux étudiants de l'Université de Montréal and must pay the general public fee for these services. 

Campus life

  • All HEC Montréal classes are held in the Côte-Sainte-Catherine and Decelles buildings, which also house most of the school’s administrative offices.

Sports facilities

  • UdeM’s Student Services offer a wide variety of cultural activities. Dozens of possibilities, ranging from theater workshops to photography competitions and the rich line-up from Ciné-campus.

Student clubs

  • There are four student associations: Graduate Studies Student Association; Undergraduate Student Association; MBA Student Association and Certificate Program Student Association. 
  • These groups organize activities by program. An amount is charged in tuition as membership fee to the student organization of the student's program.

  • 1999: HEC Montréal earns its first international accreditation, granted by the European Foundation for Management Development (EQUIS). It is the first non-European business school to receive this distinction;
  • 2002: The School is granted AMBA accreditation, from the Association of MBAs (United Kingdom);
  • 2003: HEC Montréal is granted AACSB International certification.
