Supported by the most well-known experts in Gastronomy, Hospitality, and Luxury along with those from Higher Education, Ferrieres School plans to become the international standard for a school teaching French Excellence.

Top 3 reasons to study here

  • Driven by essential values such as tradition and innovation, humility, work ethic and open-mindedness, Ferrieres has a triple mission.
  • Educate students from around the world to become professionals in Gastronomy, Hospitality, and Luxury.
  • Contribute to the expanding knowledge and practices in these three dimensions and reinforce the influence and allure of France in the sectors of excellence.

Ferrieres School opened on the 28 of September 2015 in the Chateau built by Paxton and inaugurated by Napoleon in 1862 for the Baron James de Rothschild. Ferrières’ Chateau reflects the founding principles of Ferrières School: excellence, tradition, open-mindedness and innovation.

Our educational philosophy is based on four simple ideas:

  • Learning through projects
  • The mediation of knowledge
  • Self-Construction
  • Exigency and rigor

Learning through projects comes from the inflection of rhythms. Practice, experimentation, case studies, and individual or group projects should not succeed theoretical learning placed upstream. They must accompany it, and even go as far as preceding it, whenever possible. It is because young people understand the value of the use of knowledge that they will understand the need to learn, and they will learn with enthusiasm.

The participants in the research lab programs will be teachers, advanced students, university students and associate researchers interested by the research themes and, ultimately, if funds are made available, permanent researchers in the fields of teaching and research.

A wide cooperation can be established with diverse research teams on a university-level (University of Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée, European Institute of History and Food Cultures of the University of Tours, Space Nature and Culture Laboratory of Paris-Sorbonne, UNESCO Chair for the Culture and Traditions of Wine in Dijon, etc.)

Through this educational project, we aim to train curious, open, critical, professional, willing, rigorous, detail-oriented, ambitious, dynamic, mature and committed youth to the service of three of our flagships: luxury, hospitality, and gastronomy.

Close to 2 billion tourists are expected world-wide in the year 2030 compared to a billion currently and for every 5% increase in tourists in France, 500,000 new jobs are created.

FERRIERES guides students into these professions in a unique and exceptional environment, thanks to experts who have chosen to spread their passion for “pleasure” and a job well-done.
