History
The Anton Bruckner University is one of five Austrian Universities for Music, Drama and Dance, and one of four universities in Linz, the European Capital of Culture 2009. 850 students from all parts of the world study here. They are taught by 200 Professors and teaching staff, who are internationally recognised artists, academics and teachers.
Education
The cultural landscape of Upper Austria sets an example in music education all over Europe. The Upper Austrian Provincial Government gives particular support to artistic education, which is why – compared with similar institutions – tuition fees here are extremely moderate.
Research
Culture characterises Upper Austria - a discussion process about our cultural model has developed a framework for future targets in cultural policy. We have taken the opportunity to be involved in this debate.

Library services
At the Anton Bruckner Private University the library's media collection comprises a wide range of music and scores, books, audio-visual media, magazines, journals and electronic resources in the areas of music, dance, theatre, pedagogy, literature and history of the arts. The open-access display means that most of the media are freely accessible to our users.
Since 2004 the Anton Bruckner Private University has been accredited as a private university, according to the provisions of the University Accreditation Act and Private University Act.
