History

Since it was chartered as a full-fledged university in 1977, An-Najah has promoted the acquisition of modern knowledge whilst remaining committed to the transmission and preservation of Palestinian history, heritage and culture.

Education

An-Najah is ‎‎comprised of 11 faculties located throughout the different campuses, ‎offering 108 Bachelor degree programs.  It also offers 67 Masters' ‎programs and 8 PhD programs.‎

Research

The Deanship of Scientific Research is currently planning to globalize research activities in Palestine. Work is underway to have both research journals indexed and abstracted in international indexing houses. Expansion of boards of editors is also underway, which will include professors from outside Palestine.

An-Najah National University is dedicated to providing strong support for ‎the personal, and professional development of its students in accordance ‎with its mission and vision. To achieve this goal, we aim to support ‎students in the continual development of a variety of skills to develop their ‎personalities and to enhance their future careers. 

In doing so the University ‎is committed to providing opportunities and support for all of its students ‎to achieve their full potential, both personally and professionally. There is a ‎range of training provision offered by the University's training units and ‎centers which covers research, academic and transferable (career) skills.‎

Student services

An-Najah National University is dedicated to being globally connected. The Office of ‎International Development and External Affairs (IDEA) plays a leading role in realizing this ‎ambition. Library services

The University libraries contain more than 265.381 books; 302.139 of ‎which are electronic, as well as more than 78.055 electronic journals.

Medical services

An-Najah National University Hospital aspires to combine offering medical services and medical ‎education for university students through its diverse departments and units. Through the ‎Hospital, An-Najah also offers health insurance for its students during their study years.‎

Campus life

The University consists of five campuses: the ‎New Campus, the Old ‎Campus, Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology, Khadouri Campus in ‎‎Tulkarm (which offers programs in the fields of agriculture and ‎veterinary medicine) and An-Najah National Hospital.‎

Sports facilities

The University Sports Complex, inaugurated on November 22, 2008 by President Mahmoud Abbas, is one of the most advanced sports facilities in Palestine. The Complex provides both excellent training facilities for students of the Physical Education Department, and recreational opportunities for students wishing to participate in a variety of fitness and athletic activities.

An-Najah University obtained accreditation by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission (AQAC) for three bachelor's programs.
