The SDU campus covers virtually all scientific and humanities disciplines, enabling us to make sure that the research issues we focus on are appropriate to the society we live in – as it develops and changes – and that research results can be quickly tested and converted into practical, implementable results that benefit individual citizens as well as public welfare.
One particular example of how we do this is the Danish Institute for Advanced Study, a research centre that aims to inspire and kickstart ground-breaking new ideas via effective meetings of minds in a world-class think-tank environment.
SDU offers the programme Career in Denmark for international students looking to prepare for a career in Denmark after their studies. In addition we arrange career networking events, so you can get help finding a student job or networking with local businesses.

Im currently pursuing my M.Sc. in Electronic Engineering at SDUs Snderborg campus, and it has genuinely shaped the way I think as an engineer. The programme is two years long, and every semester feels purposefully designed. SDU doesnt just teach you engineering it teaches you how to think at the frontier of technology. The university has a strong focus on green energy, which isnt just a marketing label here. Its embedded into how courses are structured and what research directions are encouraged. One subject that has truly stood out for me is Embedded Power Systems. What I love most about it is how it bridges theory directly to real green energy applications, youre not solving abstract problems, youre working on systems that actually matter for the energy transition. Its the kind of course that makes you realise why you chose engineering in the first place. The Snderborg campus is small and quiet a very different from a big university city. As an international student, that takes some adjustment. But the focused, calm environment actually helps you concentrate on your studies, and the student community is close-knit because of it. The hands-on teaching culture means youre constantly building, experimenting, and developing your own ideas alongside new technologies. For future students considering SDU Snderborg, come prepared to think independently, embrace a quieter lifestyle, and dive deep into cutting-edge engineering. Its absolutely worth it. M.Sc. Electronic Engineering Student, SDU Snderborg, Denmark
The university provided plenty of resources throughout my studies. I'd say the quality and overall experience of my master's study program was great and reached my expectations. Plenty of international students from the whole world in the class which I worked on many group projects. There is also an opportunity to do an Internship during the 3rd semester. Unfortunately, only for 10 ECTS but it's still worth it and manageable with electives on aside.
A fine university. Proper professors, but not enough ressources. Classes with 150 students take motivation and learning from the students. Fine facilitites such as sports area, cafeteria and a big library
