History
The University has been established in 2006 as a result of an agreement between the Sorbonne University in Paris and the Government of Abu Dhabi
Education
All postgraduate (masters) degrees are taught in English except the Master in Teaching French as a Foreign Language, which is taught in French, and are open to graduates of undergraduate degree programmes. A sound command of the English language is required for enrolment on any of our postgraduate programmes.

Housing services
Students can rent a fully furnished, air-conditioned residences, which are located on our campus near campus classrooms and study areas. The residences can accommodate up to 500 students. It consists of two separate buildings for men and women in order to respect the traditions and the laws of the United Arab Emirates.
Library services
As a premier resource centre the Library at Sorbonne Abu Dhabi provides access to over 100,000 books, 150 printed journals, 80,000 e-books and 23 electronic databases that enable the University to fulfil its mission of teaching, learning, research and the advancement of knowledge.
The degrees offered by Sorbonne Abu Dhabi are issued in France, and accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education and the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. These degrees are recognised worldwide.
