About
History
The history of the Catholic University of Lille began in 1875 with its five founding faculties, which have since provided instruction to many generations of students to guide them through social, political and economic changes at regional, national and international levels.

- The ESPOL research centre, ESPOL-LAB is composed of a team of University lecturers-researchers who actively contribute to the development of knowledge in political science.
- Their research focuses in particular on questioning contemporary transformations in the political sphere and analysing public decision-making processes.

Services
Student services
The Student Union, known as the “BDE” (French for Bureau des Étudiants), represents students in relation to the school administration. The role of the BDE is also to participate in the life of the school, through various initiatives and activities (parties, lectures, travel and leisure, humanitarian actions and so on).
Housing services
You need a housing solution for next semester or even during the school year ? The AEU, namely the Student Service Association offers about 15 students residences within the campus, but also out of it, depending on you wish.
Library services
The Campus has its own University Library, which covers all the study fields of ESPOL, with more than 400,000 books, accessible especially online thanks to our libraries network.
ICT services
- Every student has access to a Network Digital Library.
- There are 6 computer rooms in the basement of the academic buildings at 60, Boulevard Vauban. To access to them, bring your student card bearing your personal identification code and password, which are required to open every session.
Medical services
The university support service is developing general medical consultations, gynaecological examinations, nursing healthcare and psychological support in its healthcare centre (CPSU) at the heart of the campus.

Student clubs
ESPOL strongly encourages innovative and vocationally-oriented student initiatives (creating a school newspaper, organisation of round tables on recent political events, training in public speaking, meetings and debates on current topics) by giving students its support to develop their ideas and design their projects.
