Sydney Institute of Business and Technology (SIBT) offers a direct pathway to a university degree.  With flexible entry criteria students can complete a SIBT diploma, and then progress into second year studies of a university bachelor degree.

History

SIBT, which has been in operation since 1997, is part of the global Navitas Group (an internationally recognised education provider). As a tertiary college working in collaboration with other partner universities, SIBT eases the transition from high school to university level studies.

Education

  • Choose to study our Foundation program or a SIBT diploma program as part of your university undergraduate studies.
  • The Foundation program is approved by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and our Diploma programs are accredited by TEQSA.
  • The Federal government's Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) website help you compare the study experience and employment outcomes from Australian Higher Education Providers.

SIBT also has a team of Student Learning Advisors who have a variety of specialised pathway skills, and focus on welfare and language enhancement to provide that additional support and guidance to make sure its students stay on track to making their university dream a reality!

Housing services

There are a variety of accommodation options to choose from - fully furnished, single or share rooms, with en-suite bathrooms and kitchenettes, onsite security, student support, common rooms and sometimes facilities such as a pool.

Rental is paid weekly and can range from A$320 - A$540 per week. This typically includes costs such as electricity, phone, internet and use of facilities. Students must contact these accommodation providers directly to make a booking.

Library services

SIBT Sydney campus has its own library on campus where students can borrow books, research, quietly study or use computer and printing facilities. It has all the resources to learn and prepare assessments. Librarians are available to assist with research and referencing.

Also available nearby is the world leading State Library of NSW which is only ten minutes walk from SIBT.

ICT services

SIBT Sydney campus is a brand new, state-of-the-art, high-tech campus which offers students computer, internet and printing facilities. Each classroom is equipped with an interactive whiteboard and presentation/recording facilities. Students have the option to ‘Bring Your Own Device’ to class or borrow one of the brand new laptops or iPads for in-class participation or tutorial work.

SIBT Sydney campus offers the convenience of being located in the heart of Sydney’s business district. Its located directly across from Hyde Park and just minutes from shopping centres, services, cafés. Plus, you’re within walking distance of iconic destinations like the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, and all modes of transport meaning you have easy and full access to all the best our city has to offer.
