History
Shandong University of Science and Technology (SDUST), founded in 1951, offers multidisciplinary education in engineering, sciences, management, literature, law, economics and education with unique engineering characteristics.
Education
The University comprises 32 academic colleges, 5 research institutions, 5 teaching auxiliary departments and one independent college. There are 9 centers for post-doctoral studies, 10 first-tier disciplines authorized to confer doctoral degrees with 27 doctoral programs; 16 disciplines to confer master’s degrees and 93 undergraduate programs.
Research
In the past five years, SDUST has undertaken 407 national scientific research projects and 896 provincial and ministerial projects. It has won 255 scientific research awards at or above the provincial and ministerial level, including 3 second prizes of national science and technology progress, and 1 second prize of national technological invention. 1532 national invention patents were authorized.
The Science and Technology Park of the university is jointly recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education as the "National University Science and Technology Park" and the "College Students' Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Practice Base".

Campus life
The University now has three campuses, located respectively in Qingdao, Tai’an and Jinan, covering a total area of 253 hectares with a floor space of 1.46 million square meters. The total value of fixed assets of the university reached to 3.015 billion yuan, and the total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 796 million yuan
