History
- Located in beautiful Vancouver, BC, Canada, Langara College started in 1965 as part of Vancouver Community College and in 1970, it opened its West 49th Avenue campus.
- On April 1, 1994, Langara College was established as an independent public college under the Provincial College and Institute Act.
Education
Education Council is responsible for approving curriculum content for courses and programs leading to certificates, diplomas, or degrees, and for policies concerning student evaluation, withdrawal, academic standing, appeals, grading, awards for excellence and other academic matters.
Research
- Over 50 Applied Research Centre (ARC) Fund grants of $3000 each have been awarded to Langara faculty since 2016. Langara faculty have been awarded over $5-million in research grants in the past 5 years.
- You can also get course release to conduct research. Faculty can receive funding to hire students for research. Contact Jenny Francis or Kelly Sveinson for more information.

Housing services
Langara does not have student residences. Students who are not living with family or friends in Canada choose to live in homestay or off-campus.

Langara College has two campus locations:
- Langara College Main Campus - 100 West 49th Avenue, Vancouver
- West Broadway Centre - 601 West Broadway, Vancouver
Sports facilities
- The Langara gymnasium building features one basketball court, two volleyball courts, or six badminton courts, and men's and women's washrooms and changerooms.
- Gym lockers can be rented for a minimal fee on a semester-to-semester basis, and includes a towel service.
