History

Saskatchewan Polytechnic (formerly the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology or SIAST) is Saskatchewan's primary public institution for post-secondary technical education and skills training, recognized nationally and internationally for its expertise and innovation. 

Education

Through program and course registrations, Saskatchewan Polytechnic serves 26,000 distinct students with programs that touch every sector of the economy. It operates campuses in Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina and Saskatoon; and provides a number of courses and programs through distance education.

Research

We aim to empower a better future by leading the rise of polytechnic education. Therefore, we work, live and learn in a socially and environmentally responsible manner. We support the health, safety and overall well-being of our learners, employees and partners. Career

SIAST’s new continuing education calendar offers more than 800 courses for people who want to explore a new career or improve their workplace skills. Flexible learning options are available, such as evening, weekend and online courses, which allow students to learn while working or caring for a family.

Student services

Student Services offers a wide range of support services including student recruitment, registration services, counselling, accessibility services, learning services and student employment services. We work closely with students, programs, Saskatchewan Polytechnic administration and students' associations to advise, counsel and empower our students to enhance their post-secondary experiences.

Library services

Libraries are an integral part of the Saskatchewan Polytechnic educational process, providing prompt and courteous services to fulfill the information needs of students, staff, and instructors. Learning and teaching are supported by developing, maintaining, and ensuring access to relevant collections in all formats and adopting appropriate technologies and instruction methods.

ICT services

Information Technology Services (ITS) provides helpdesk support, communications and network services, computer lab configuration and support, application development, technology planning, data management and hardware and software technical assistance.

Medical services

Sask Polytech is committed to supporting and promoting employee health and wellness. Faculty and staff have access to an employee and family assistance program and wellness resources which comprise counselling, coaching, online services, and information/support for a broad range of health-related matters.

Campus life

Learning takes place at campuses in Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina and Saskatoon and through extensive distance education opportunities. Programs serve every economic and public service sector. As a polytechnic, the organization provides the depth of learning appropriate to employer and student need, including certificate, diploma and degree programs, and apprenticeship training. Saskatchewan Polytechnic engages in applied research, drawing on faculty expertise to support innovation by employers, and providing students the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills.

Student clubs

The students' association provides peer support, services and organizes student activities and clubs in each campus city. Student societies are a great way to meet like-minded people on campus and expand your social network. The Saskatchewan Polytechnic Students’ Association (SPSA) provides students all the tools needed to start their own society.  Student societies can host events, fundraise and raise awareness on campus, all with the assistance of the SPSA.  

Sask Polytech engineering technology programs have national accreditation status through Technology Accreditation Canada (TAC), whose focus is partnering with educational institutions to ensure students receive a quality education that meets the standards
