Utsunomiya University is a national university in Utsunomiya, Japan. It aims to develop students who are professionally trained in their field of study and are capable of making well-balanced decisions based on a broad vision and a compassion for mankind.
History
Utsunomiya University was first established in 1949 by integrating three different national colleges: Utsunomiya Agricultural and Forestry College, Tochigi Normal School and Tochigi Normal School for Youth. It became a national university in 2004.

Utsunomiya University is located in the city of Utsunomiya, the prefectural capital of Tochigi. Notable sites near Utsunomiya that always attract many tourists include Nikko, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Kinugawa Hot Springs and the Nasu vacationing area.
The expansive University campuses are situated in a natural setting abounding in greenery. There are restaurants, a shopping mall, a cinema complex and other amenities located nearby. Students can live comfortably and enjoy themselves while studying at the University.
Although I have not yet begun my studies at Utsunomiya University, I am excited about the opportunity to join a learning environment that is known for academic excellence and cultural diversity. My decision to study here is inspired by the university’s strong research culture, supportive academic staff, and its commitment to global education.
I am particularly motivated by the chance to work under experienced professors and to take part in practical, research-oriented learning. I also look forward to improving my Japanese language skills, which will not only support my academic progress but also help me engage more meaningfully with the local community.
I expect this journey to be transformative—broadening my academic knowledge, sharpening my skills, and giving me a deeper understanding of Japanese culture. Ultimately, I hope to bring back the knowledge and experiences I gain at Utsunomiya University to contribute positively to my country’s development.
