History
The Systems Science Institute begins offering a non-degree, one-year professional education program at the graduate level – the precursor to WBS. The brand name, “Waseda Business School,” begins to appear in official documents in the 1980s.
Education
The goal of Waseda Business School is to educate students to become leading professionals in their fields, honing their specialized skills and acumen to a level which earns their place in today’s global business society.
Research
Waseda University Institute for Business and Finance was launched on September 1, 2017 through the integration of the Center for Finance Research and WBS Research Center.
The objective of the institute is to produce and deliver world-class research findings through basic and applied research in the fields of business and finance to support schools and to the society extensively via cooperation with Waseda Business School and merger of the educational and research systems of both organizations.

ARWU World University rankings is the first world university ranking. It ranks the world's top 1000 colleges and universities based on objective indicator. They look at the number of award-winning (Fields Medals and Nobel Prize) scientists who are located there, how much of their research is cited and referenced around the world, and how much they've contributed to different academic fields. After calculating and comparing these criteria, ARWU ranks the universities accordingly.

Briefly, Tokyo is a fun, clean, safe, trendy, world-class megacity with more three-star Michelin restaurants than Paris and various specialty bars that offer the finest microbrews, sake and wine. The quality of life in Tokyo is extremely high and the fact that Japanese people have some of the highest life expectancies in the world is not a surprise.
Student clubs
WBS students engage not only in academic study but also in extracurricular activities. Students frequently organize events and short group trips in order to make the most of their limited free time.
