History
EIT Manufacturing Master and Doctoral School is part of EIT Manufacturing, supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). Aligned with the EU's vision, EIT Manufacturing brings together over 80 members (universities, companies, and research institutes) to enhance European manufacturing through innovation ecosystems, promoting global competitiveness and sustainability.
Education
EIT Manufacturing Master School offers two year master's programmes involving a year of study at two universities, supplemented by a 3-week summer school focusing on Innovation & Entrepreneurship at a third university. Led by EIT Manufacturing and its 9 university partners, we provide five master programmes merging technical studies with innovation & entrepreneurship, equipping students with a strong academic foundation and practical skills for the dynamic manufacturing sector.
EIT Manufacturing Doctoral School offers PhD students an international two-year education focused on manufacturing innovation and entrepreneurship guiding them in transforming their research results or patents into marketable solutions.
Research
EIT Manufacturing Master School:
In the second year, students will carry out their thesis project at a manufacturing company. Students will develop solutions to address a real need presented by the company in a working collaboration that can result in a permanent job.
EIT Manufacturing Doctoral School:
In the first year, students delve into manufacturing aspects like green manufacturing and robotics. Simultaneously, they use design thinking to ideate a marketable solution for their PhD topic.
In the second year, the programme emphasizes entrepreneurship. Students develop their innovations, focusing on defining and launching a startup. EIT Manufacturing initiatives may further support the startup on its market path.
Career
The EIT Manufacturing Master and Doctoral School graduates are well-positioned for diverse career paths. Equipped with the latest theoretical knowledge and practical problem-solving skills, they boast a solid foundation in well-founded scientific knowledge, enhancing their readiness for immediate entry into the manufacturing job market. The program's emphasis on entrepreneurship and hands-on experience further prepares graduates for roles ranging from research and development to leadership positions in manufacturing. Additionally, the EIT alumni network provides valuable connections, opening doors to opportunities for career advancement and industry collaboration.

While studying at our partner universities, students benefit from dedicated EIT Manufacturing programme coordinators on campus who promptly address queries and provide assistance when needed. Additionally, the main office of the EIT Manufacturing Master and Doctoral School remains in regular contact and can be reached for any further support.

Students will have access to library, laboratories, and various other facility of the partner university they are studying at.

IT support including free Wifi will be available at the partner universities’ campus.

The EIT Label Certificate
All EIT Manufacturing Master & PhD degree programmes are Awarded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), the EIT Label is a certificate of quality and excellence for educational programmes that are focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, creativity and leadership. EIT-labelled degrees encourage innovative pedagogies and incorporate mandatory mobility schemes for students.
