History
Applied Science University was established in 2004 making it one of the first private universities in the Kingdom of Bahrain. ASU is striving to become a leading university promoting excellence in applied education and research in Bahrain and the region. Furthermore, ASU is committed to enhancing graduates’ employability to help them compete in international markets.
Education
ASU aims to support the economic and social development of the Kingdom of Bahrain by providing degree programmes at both the undergraduate and post graduate levels. ASU offers 15 undergraduate programmes across four colleges, including six dual award programmes in collaboration with London South Bank University (LSBU), in the United Kingdom. In addition, ASU offers seven master programmes in both the College of Law and the College of Administrative Sciences. These programmes support the scientific research at ASU.
Research
The Deanship of Research and Graduate Studies forms one of the most important pillars of Applied Science University, Bahrain. This comes from the fact that research plays an important role in any academic institution. Research has a major impact on ASU’s accreditation and ranking and for that reason a strategic research plan has been established in line with the Higher Education Council guidelines in Bahrain. We aim to increase both the quantity and quality of our research output and work hand in hand with the industries in Bahrain and GCC countries.
Career
The Career Development and Alumni Affairs Office at ASU serves as a bridge between the university and its graduates. Its mission and objectives revolve around maintaining and enhancing the graduates’ database, overseeing the Alumni Club’s board of directors, organizing events, workshops, seminars, and activities that contribute to the professional development of the university’s graduates, including an annual Career Fair. Additionally, the office strives to provide job and training opportunities for both graduates and students, while establishing sustainable relationships with public and private sector institutions.

Housing services
Although ASU currently does not have dormitories, we can help the students to find safe, secure, and affordable accommodations in prime locations in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Library services
ASU's Library was established along with the inauguration of the university in 2004. It offers the service of databases (e.g. Emerald, EBSCO, and ARADO) and online search on its portal in both Arabic and English. The library collection includes more than 32000 books and 38 English and Arabic paper journals that cover all fields of knowledge. It also provides 10 private research rooms.
ICT services
The ICT & KM Directorate is committed to developing, deploying and supporting innovative, quality and sustainable Information Communication Technology solutions and services that meet the changing learning, teaching, research and management needs of the University. In addition, to maximise student and staff productivity, enhance teaching, learning and improve quality of research.
Medical services
The is a health clinic at ASU operating during active hours and staff by a healthcare professional.
Campus life
The university relocated to its current purpose-built campus in September 2013, covering an area of 24,000 sq. meters. It is designed to accommodate around 2,100 students at the same time, to reach a capacity of 6,300 students distributed across mornings, evenings and weekends.
Sports facilities
The Administrative Building at ASU includes areas for student activities where students can socialise in between lectures.
Student clubs
At ASU, there is a Student Council elected by students annually. Members include representatives from each of the four colleges.
