The seed of what is today known as the Universitat Politècnica de València was planted in the academic year 1968-1969, when the Higher Polytechnic Institute of Valencia was created. At that time it comprised four schools: the School of Agricultural Engineering, founded in 1959; the School of Architecture, inaugurated in 1966.
For the academic year 2018-2019, the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) offers ten consecutive programmes that students may choose when they pre-register. This initiative enables students to take a bachelor's degree and, consecutively, a master's degree, as the UPV guarantees acceptance in the master's degree in question.
The label UPV research structures encompasses all those centres that work in research, development and innovation, and try to respond to the demand -both from the University itself and from its social enviroment- for technological and artistic products. They fall into three categories: UPV's own (unshared) research centres, joint and associated research centres, and inter-university research centres.
The UPV's Servipoli Foundation assists you in finding temporary jobs that are compatible with your studies both on- and off-campus so you can earn extra money without having to miss your classes.
Services (in alphabetical order)
The UPV provides a free service to students to help them find accommodation that meets their expectations and needs. To do so, the UPV keeps a database with information about students and individuals offering and requesting shared flats, stays with a family or flats to rent.
The UPV cannot be held responsible by either of the parties for any issues regarding the conditions of the accommodation, the behaviour of tenants or any failure to comply with payments. Its only intention is to help students with their search and to act as a simple mediator between students and the owners of the properties (lessors).

Integrated Prevention and Health Service is the technical nature intended to perform advisory work and assessment of risks that are inherent to the activities performed by users , and can lead to a reduction in levels of safety and health or which could negatively impact on the members of the university community who were exposed to them.
The UPV has campuses in the cities of Valencia, Alcoy and Gandia, all with modern facilities and excellent services. The three campuses share the same philosophy and provide the same opportunities, which has the led the UPV to be considered a model of reference.
