The establishment of Athens University of Economics and Business came about as a matter of historic necessity following the economic, technological and social changes that took place in Greece at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries.

One of the most important activities of the AUEB University Student Club is the provision of free housing accommodation for AUEB students.
The AUEB Library was established in the 1920s. Since then, it has accommodated generation upon generation of University students. Today the Library is of a hybrid type, combining printed and electronic material.

The main building of the University "Marasleio Megaro" is located at 76, Patission (28is Oktovriou) Street in Athens, two blocks away from the Archaeological Museum. AEGEE is a voluntary, politically independent and non-profit organization open to students from schools in all European Union member states. AEGEE was founded in Paris in 1985 and is represented today in 270 cities in 40 countries all across Europe and has about 17,000 members.
