History
Established on 1 January 1991, Klaipeda University started with three faculties; currently, its academic provision is delivered by three faculties and two research institutes.
Education
The study programmes presently implemented at Klaipeda University provide advanced university education and high professional qualification. Klaipeda University seeks to educate future specialists and personalities, to develop humanist and cultural values, and to promote a maritime mentality in the city and the nation.
Research
Over 60 scientific research laboratories, a research vessel- laboratory Mintis, a research and training sailboat Brabander, and a yacht Odyssey as integral part of the KU marine research infrastructure play an important role in the University research activities.

Accreditation
In accordance with the external evaluation conclusions, in 2012, Klaipeda University was accredited for six years. The Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education evaluates the activities of a higher education institution in four evaluation areas: strategic management, studies and lifelong learning, research and artistic activities, and the impact on regional and national development. In 2018, accreditation of Klaipeda University was extended.

Academic Experience Review
Here’s a well-balanced response you can use or adapt: --- My overall study experience has been quite positive and rewarding. I really appreciated the supportive learning environment and the dedication of the teachers, who made complex topics easier to understand. The course content was generally well-structured, and I found many of the lessons engaging and relevant to real-world applications. I also liked the opportunities to develop both independent learning and teamwork skills. However, there are a few areas that could be improved. At times, the workload felt a bit overwhelming, especially during exam periods, and better scheduling or distribution of assignments would help reduce stress. Additionally, incorporating more practical activities or hands-on learning experiences could make the learning process even more effective and enjoyable. Overall, I would summarise my study experience as a valuable and enriching journey that has helped me grow academically and personally, with some room for improvement in workload management and practical exposure.
