BÜREM is the counseling center for Bogaziçi University students, offering a variety of services to students including individual and group counseling.For an appointment, students have to come to BUREM and fill out an application form.Intermediate level of English is required to use individual counseling services.
Bogaziçi University Library is having 481.616 books, 79.921 electronic journal and newspaper, 3.256.021 e-books, 620 printed journal and 194 interactive database, 2.283 books written in Braille alphabet and voice-books. Approximately 4.500 researchers and students visit the library daily.
Internet access is provided free of charge to all students in all dormitories.
BU’s main Health Center (in turkish “mediko” or “revir”), is located on the Main or “South” Campus. It provides health services to all students, university workers and faculty members. All services at the center are provided free of charge to all graduate and undergraduate students, including all international students.
Many of the University's buildings are located on its South Campus, with the Bosphorus and the historical castle of Rumelihisar as its boundary to the east. This campus encompasses the oldest buildings of the University. The North Campus, Hisar Campus, and Uçaksavar Campus host the relatively recently acquired facilities and are at walking distances from South Campus. The Kandilli Campus, housing the observatory, is on the Asian side of the Bosphorus. Saritepe Campus, near Kilyos on the Black Sea coast is 34 km from South Campus.

Throughout my education, I had the opportunity to learn about diverse disciplines. The critique about the current psychology literature is essential for the department.
I started the Political Science and International Relations program in 2021, I also joined the Double Major in Sociology in 2022. I have graduated from both in 2026. The Turkish government's relentless efforts to devalue academia are resisted bravely by the instructors of both of my departments. When picking your classes, beware of "parachute" instructors placed by the government, you will be able to spot them right away by their entry date into the University, be careful if the date is after 2021 especially in the Political Science department. The real instructors of Boğaziçi University are highly qualified, kind, and often politically active. They display an awe inspiring example of institutional resilience under an authoritarian regime. The students of these departments are also ones that have attained the highest scores in the University Entrance Exams and are among the first thousand top scorers in the country, which is an incredible accomplishment if you have any context on the Turkish education system. The students are often overachievers who are also politically active(if they are students of social sciences the political activism is especially true). I have always wanted to study abroad but the things Boğaziçi taught me (not only academic skills, but also life skills) cannot be taught anywhere else. I am proud to call myself a Boğaziçi graduate.
The current political and economic issues in Turkey adversely affected the research and education quality of many universities, and Boğaziçi was one of them. It was the best university in Turkey; however, inadequate funding for research, acceptance of ineligible academicians, and increasing numbers of quotas declined Boğaziçi's quality. In addition, dormitory opportunities are not sufficient for the increasing number of students.
