History

Founded in Milan in 1921by Father Agostino Gemelli, Universit Cattolica del Sacro Cuore is Europe's most important Catholic university.

It is also the only university in Italy with4 campusesall over the country: in Milan, Piacenza-Cremona, Brescia and Rome.

Tutoring

One of the main attractions of Università Cattolica is the presence of tutors whose task is to aid educational development initiatives and introduction into the university environment. 

Housing services

Imagine living and studying in Milan or Rome, both seats of ancient empires.

Milan, which is now an acclaimed fashion center of the world, home to many of the worlds iconic luxury brands.

And Rome, the Eternal city, which is an archaeological spectacle and feast. The home of masterpieces and the Vatican, a city whose footprint reflects almost three millennia of history.

Then there is our campus in the heart of Brescia, a city of ancient wonders above and below the cobblestone streets and laneways.

And Piacenza-Cremona, located at the cross-roads of Italys famous agricultural heartland, where local providers hang the hams and meats which are sought and coveted throughout the world.

Library services

The Rome Campus library was founded in 1961. Today, the library holds over 251,000 volumes and 7,000 periodicals (of which, about 4,000 are current). The total reading area covers 2,600 sqm and numbers more than 400 available seating places distributed in five reading rooms (two at the Policlinico "A . Gemelli" and three at the "Istituti Biologici").

ICT services

All guest students have free access to the Internet Service. There is an internet point at the Faculty of Economics, 2nd floor.

Medical services

Cattolica Health Centerprovides all enrolled students medical care free of charge.

  • Every Monday from 1.30pm to 4.30pm
  • Location: the Nuovo Joaenneum.

Students are advised to schedule an appointment.

Our range of campus facilities and services ensures that every international student has access to all of the support, information and mentoring which international students seek. These include a dedicated international student center, a housing service, health center, sports facilities and international student associations.

Sports facilities

The campus offers students:

  • a football field
  • three tennis courts
  • a volleyball court
  • a basketball court
  • a 5-a-side field
  • a gym for judo and gymnastics.

Several sport events are held on campus such as football, basketball and volleyball tournaments between teams made up of University students, doctors and staff.

Student clubs

S.I.S.M. (Segretariato Italiano Studenti di Medicina) is a non-profit association of medical students founded in 1970; nowadays it is present in 34 italian universities and is affiliated with I.F.M.S.A. (International Federation of Medical Students' Associations), an association of medical students that counts members worldwide.
