History
The Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa) founded on July 2013 has been the result of a merger process between the former Technical University of Lisbon (UTL) and the University of Lisbon (UL). ULisboa extends the continuity of both institutions recognized scientific and cultural traditions.

The Student Support Services of Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa) is an autonomous service designed to carry out social action policies, under the terms and scope defined by law and by the Governing Bodies of the University.
Housing services
Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa) has 19 residences for students in Lisbon.
Every semester, the ULisboa Student Support Services sets aside vacancies in their Student Halls of Residence for foreign students studying at the University under the Mobility Programs.
Library services
In order to respond to the users’ needs (students, professors, researchers and Non Academic Staff), Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa) libraries specialize throughout different thematic domains, offering several services such as reading and consultation of books, periodicals, publications, monographs, electronic documents and cartographic documents.
Medical services
In the context of primary health care they provide general medical consultations and other medical specialties with special access to members of ULisboa.
Sports facilities
Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa) includes a number of specialized units which promote sport, health and well-being within the academic community.
The sports facilities provide physical exercise modalities (e. g. fitness, group activities, combat sports, tennis, volleyball), and university championships in order to promote the use of free time for health and wellbeing activity within the academic community.
Student clubs
The Student’s Unions are the organizational structure that represents the students of each School of Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa). Each Student’s Union has an active role not only in the reception, integration and interaction of the students in academia, but also in developing cooperation with other higher educational institutions.
