The history of higher education in Pécs dates back to 1367, when Louis the Great initiated the establishment of a university in the episcopal city of Pécs. As a result of an integration process of several stages, the University of Pécs was founded, which has become one of the most famous, prestigious institutions having a leading role in regional education.
The Szentágothai Research Centre is the scientific excellence centre of our university, which is the base of medical-biological (neuroscience, endocrinology-immunology, cardiovascular and infectious diseases, clinical trials), natural sciences (physics, chemistry) and engineering-informatics (building energetics) research. It focuses on the infrastructure and research potential of the Southern Transdanubian Region, and has complex and close cooperation with academic and industrial partners.

The University of Pécs has ten dormitories. They are located in quiet, residential areas of the city. The Faculties of the University as well as the city centre are easily accessible from the dormitories. Most of the dormitories have recently been renovated. The rooms are nicely furnished and contain bathrooms. Bedclothes are supplied. Rooms are offered on a reasonable price level.
Students and staff of the University can use the majority of library services free of charge after subscribing to any of the faculty libraries or the Central Library. As ours is a public library, our subscribers include people from the city and the region, students from various Hungarian universities and many other people.
The UP Clinical Centre is one of the largest health care providers in Hungary. With its 29 health care units, nearly 3 000 staff members the centre have provided health care for several decades in Pécs and in the surrounding region. The Centre also plays an active role in the practical education of medical students and health care professionals.
Pécs is a beautiful place to study. Not only because it is simultaneously a friendly village and a very active city, in which you never have to be bored. You can be sure you will find everything that a student could wish.
In order to ensure high international standards, strict quality control measures are applied. The Hungarian Accreditation Committee (HAC) conducts continuous institutional and program accreditation procedures and monitors the quality of educational activity for compliance with the European Standards and Guidelines. Hungarian higher education institutions and courses are accredited by HAC.

I am highly satisfied with the Leadership and Management MSc program offered by the University of P�cs, Faculty of Business and Economics. Currently, I am in my penultimate semester, and throughout the program, we have had a well-balanced combination of both practical and theoretical courses. I found the Business Analysis and Valuation course particularly valuable, as well as the statistics-oriented classes, which significantly contributed to the development of my analytical skills. However, there were instances where the curriculum overlapped with topics that had already been covered during my undergraduate studies. Overall, I would recommend this program to others, as it provides a solid academic foundation complemented by practical insights
