The origins of the University go back to the VIII century AD thanks to the foundation of the celebrated Salerno medical school, an authoritative, prestigious, sanitary institution, which remained important throughout the whole Medieval Age. The University Center for Orientation and Mentoring (Centro di Ateneo per l’Orientamento e il Tutorato - CAOT), which is related to the Office for the Right to Education, has multiple objectives. They include: fostering well thought-out choices regarding the student’s university career; offering practical tools during the course of study; facilitating graduates’ entry into the world of work. In order to carry out actions to ensure the continuity between school and university, fruitful relations have been established with about 450 secondary schools from the University’s catchment area. Orientation and mentoring have been upgraded by projects funded by the European Union from the European Social Fund.
Since 2009, the Fisciano campus has beenequipped with a complex of highly efficient residence halls for students and faculty.
An important result in terms of urban and social planning, the Fisciano residences count 780 beds. They are made up of one-room flats and ready-furnished mini-apartments, all equipped with air conditioning, kitchenette, telephone, internet connection, satellite TV input. Accommodation comprises additional services (reception rooms, study rooms, meeting rooms, a breakfast room, lounges, automatic laundries, cafés, a projection room, a gym).
The University Library Center is divided into two central libraries - one for the Humanities and one for the Sciences – both located at the Fisciano campus. A third library, run by the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, is located at the Baronissi campus.
Unisa On The Air is part of the project "ICT4 University Wifi sud" co-financed by the Department for Innovation and Technologies of the President of the Council of Ministers and carried out in conjunction with CRUI.
The University of Salerno joined the federation eduroam, which gives access to the network of federated universities, through connection to the wi-fi network.
The Center provides first aid and specialist examinations. Specialist care, as comprised in the regional screening, is free for Salerno University students. The “Michele Cesaro” Counseling Center provides professional help to students experiencing personal difficulties that might hinder the achievement of academic goals.

Currently, I mostly like the natural beauty around it..it is calm and peace. As I have passed around 3 months I am getting used to the teaching pattern. There is also some disadvantages of transports as it is a little bit far from main city. And as my class helds far from campus..I have to take a bus and as an international student it feels a little bit expensive for me.
It is not an easy course,if you doing it online. However I like that they offer tutors whenever you are stuck and need help. The help The tutors offer is helpful and the way the exams are structured is possible to pass your course.
I don't suggest this university not even my worst enemy ! Many exams are oral and italian and much professors give partial notes on an oral exam of 15-20 minutes
