About

EdX is an online learning platform trusted by over 12 million users offering the Supply Chain Analytics Program in collaboration with Massachusetts Institute of Technology - MITx. Master and apply the core methodologies used in supply chain analysis and modeling, including statistics, regression, optimization and probability – part of the MITx Supply Chain Management MicroMasters Credential.

Overview

Supply chains are complex systems involving multiple businesses and organizations with different goals and objectives. Many different analytical methods and techniques are used by researchers and practitioners alike to better design and manage their supply chains.

Key facts

This business and management course introduces the primary methods and tools that you will encounter in your study and practice of supply chains. We focus on the application of these methods, not necessarily the theoretical underpinnings. This course is part of a MicroMasters® Program.

We will begin with an overview of introductory probability and decision analysis to ensure that students understand how uncertainty can be modeled. Next, we will move into basic statistics and regression. Finally, we will introduce optimization modeling from unconstrained to linear, non-linear, and mixed integer linear programming.

This is a hands-on course. Students will use spreadsheets extensively to apply these techniques and approaches in case studies drawn from actual supply chains.

The Supply Chain Analytics course  is part of Supply Chain Management MicroMasters Program, offered by EdX in partnership with Massachusetts Institute of Technology - MITx.

Programme Structure

What you'll learn

  • Model uncertainty in supply chains using probability and statistical analysis
  • Conduct hypothesis testing and regression analysis to support data-driven decisions
  • Formulate and solve mathematical optimization models for supply chain planning and network design
  • Use simulation techniques to evaluate policies, test scenarios, and assess decisions under uncertainty
  • Apply algorithmic and approximation methods to solve complex problems when exact solutions are computationally infeasible

Unfortunately, learners residing in one or more of the following countries or regions will not be able to register for this course: Iran, Cuba and the Crimea region of Ukraine. While edX has sought licenses from the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) to offer our courses to learners in these countries and regions, the licenses we have received are not broad enough to allow us to offer this course in all locations. edX truly regrets that U.S. sanctions prevent us from offering all of our courses to everyone, no matter where they live.
