Overview

Renewable energy is shaping access to energy, energy security and the energy transition. Frankfurt School's Certified Expert in Applied Renewable Energy Finance offers a structured introduction to the financing of renewable energy electricity projects, from power sector fundamentals to investment analysis and project finance.

During this programme, you will explore how projects are developed, commercialised and financed, with a focus on contractual frameworks, risk allocation and financial structuring. Topics include electricity market design, power purchase agreements, financial modelling and investment approaches for renewable energy assets.

The course also examines alternative financing approaches, including corporate finance, blended finance and development finance, before turning to emerging business models, energy storage and system integration. You will gain practical frameworks for understanding financing and investment decisions in a changing energy landscape.
