About the course
Over the four weeks, you will be introduced to a range of practical tools that can bring the world of a play to life and help you to fully inhabit a character. The Acting - The Play (online) programme is offered by The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
You will also gain a wide-ranging practical understanding of current trends in online rehearsal and digitally facilitated performance.
Programme Structure
Course content:
- Explore text analysis, character development, taking direction and ensemble storytelling
- Explore one play in depth
- Gain a practical understanding of current rehearsal processes that incorporate technology in the absence of face-to-face practice perform
- Perform in an end of course online sharing and be sent the recording (please note - this is not to be used as an external showcase and you are not able to share the footage with others due to rights and privacy issues)

The minimum age is 18 on the first day of the course. There is no upper age limit.
Who is this course suitable for?
- Anyone who has some experience in acting, and would like to put their scene-study skills that they have learned into practice on a single, extended piece of work
- Anyone who has completed our other short courses Acting - An Introduction and Acting – Working with Text (online or face-to-face) and would like to move to the next level
- Anyone who has completed similar level acting classes elsewhere
