Key facts
At the end of the Russian for Beginners course from Tallinn University, participants can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.
The participant can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. He/she can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
Programme Structure
Programme structure:
- During the classes, we will cover such topics as introducing yourself, hobbies, time and season of the year, weather, school life, visiting shops and cafes. There will be online sessions once a week with a variety of materials provided by the teacher.
Audience
The course is suitable for beginners in Russian.It is ideal for students of political science majoring in the countries of the former Soviet Union since it offers one of the best possibilities to compare two former Soviet countries and learn Russian. It is also perfect for anyone interested in the Russian language and culture.The primary communication language is English.
Lecturers
All the teachers are native speakers of Russian. Some of them have been teaching at Tallinn Winter School and Tallinn Summer School for more than 10 years.

Credits
The number of classes equals 40 academic hours (10 days of classes, 3 ECTS). Students are expected to attend 4 lessons a day. In order to get the winter school certificate, students have to participate in at least 75% of the classes and pass an exam at the end of the course.
