About the course
Using case studies of past and current social engagement projects, you will learn how to analyse what constitutes a successful project, as well as understanding the finer details of project proposals, budgeting, funding streams and evaluation processes.
Through discussion, collaborative group work and practical exercises this course will inspire and motivate you to begin programming, curating, devising and facilitating social engagement projects or concepts of your own.
We will see how social engagement is taking place in cultural organisations and develop a critical framework that participants can use in the future. We will explore the ethics around social engagement, and how they operate within a wider social context, helping us to evaluate the wider impact of social engagement initiatives. The Art of Social Engagement is offered at the University of the Arts London (UAL) .
