About the course
The Introduction to Sport Event Management course at AISTS (International Academy of Sport Science and Technology) will give you a unique opportunity to learn from real sport events in a holistic way to understand the main steps that make up event organisation.
This course is split into three lessons and a final test. The first lesson brings you straight into the world of sport events and covers a range of topics: defining sport events, sport event typologies, key insights into the sport event industry, its latest trends, and the importance of a vision.
The second lesson goes on to cover the necessary components of sport event and what it means to run a successful one. Topics such as operating areas, service, stakeholders, and legacy will be taught. The third lesson is a highly interactive case study that closely follows a professional athlete’s ambition to organize his own sport event.

- Explore the various components and types of a sport event, and evaluate how a successful event is put together. Achieve a holistic understanding of the sport event industry and the latest trends.
- Be introduced to several key notions of a sport event (operating areas, stakeholders, service, and legacy) and understand their role in the organisation and delivery of a sport event.
- Learn the main steps to conceptualising a sport event. Begin how to think like an event organiser.
