Overview

Key facts

The Open University UK's Trauma-informed counselling course aims to equip counsellors and psychotherapists to develop their current understanding of trauma and to consider their practice through a trauma-informed lens. Specifically, trauma is considered through the lens of power and safety. Learners will develop awareness of working safely with trauma and with a diverse range of clients, including managing boundaries and risk, and appreciating the importance of self-awareness and self-care for practitioners working with trauma. On successful completion learners will receive a CPD certificate for this course.
