What you will learn
After completing the Global Health course offered by Dalarna University, students will be able to:
- apply the definitions of global health, human equality and gender equality as based on the 17 Global Goals in the UN‘s Agenda 2030
- describe and discuss global health challenges such as poverty, epidemics, climate change, violence against specific groups in society, and migration
- describe the role of a nursing student in another cultural context
- explain the importance of language for communication across cultural boundaries.
Programme Structure
The program focuses on:
- The course begins with lectures that are followed by seminars and workshops where examples from global perspectives are described and theories are presented regarding sustainability, transcultural care and healthcare.
