Key facts
The University of South Africa (UNISA)'s Teaching Accounting in Further Education and Training (FET) Phase purpose of this course is to equip qualified teachers (Accounting teachers) with competencies, skills, knowledge, values and attitudes in the teaching of Accounting subject in schools.
The programme will provide students with requisite skills, and competencies on how to deliver the lessons that will empower learners in Accounting to successfully understand the subject content.
Programme Structure
The following themes are embedded within the module:
- Concepts related to teaching Accounting and effective use of subject content knowledge to enhance teaching and learning in the classroom situation
- Teaching methods, learning strategies, and teaching media applicable to the teaching of Accounting in different contexts
- Plan, design, teach and reflect on lessons in their subject
- Locate, conduct and reflect on assessment in their subject
- How they prepare a classroom for teaching

- The professional teachers involved in teaching Accounting in Further Education Training Phase. The teachers should have a Degree or Diploma in Education.
