Overview
What you will study
Using freely available online resources, the William Shakespeare and the First Folio event offered by University of Oxford will explore the different celebrations and events linked to the anniversary and investigate the material life of this iconic publication – asking how and why the First Folio has come to be so central to Shakespeare’s material heritage. In addition to an appraisal of the anniversary year, we will consider digital copies of the First Folio, exploring what it means when old books reappear in new forms.
This event will include a range of content, including mini-lectures, presentations, videos, book extracts and digital resources and encourage participants to share their own views and responses in breakout sessions throughout.
