About

Intersectionality studies draw attention to the interrelatedness of inequalities or power hierarchies along social dimensions, such as gender, race, class, sexuality, religion, able-bodiedness, and it is often associated with qualitative research. Radboud University offers the Doing intersectional quantitative research programme.

Overview

Key facts

  • However, as questions about the social meaning and roots of inequalities are at the core of quantitative social and health sciences, intersectionality has much to offer to quantitative research.
  • Still many who are interested in conducting it are struggling with the question: How to do intersectional quantitative research?  That is exactly what we will focus on in Radboud University's Doing intersectional quantitative research one-week crash course.

Programme Structure

Course include:

  • Building on an emerging consensus, this course makes clear why adding an interaction term to your regression model is neither sufficient, nor necessary for doing intersectionality research.
  • Having that said, we do focus on which statistical tools are suitable for doing intersectional research and how they can be applied.
