What you will study
The Collaborative Health and Mind Programme (CHAMPS) course at The University of Lancashire aims to improve mental wellness in society and is underpinned by evidence-based theory.
The course equips you to recognise mental ill-health in others and provides you with the skills to support them whilst maintaining your own wellbeing and professional boundaries.
You'll learn to recognise, assess, support and signpost complex issues to professional services. You'll also get the opportunity to practice your skills in a safe environment.
Programme Structure
What you'll learn:
- Develop an understanding of common mental health conditions, interventions and recommend the appropriate support.
- You'll develop practice-based skills. These will help you to engage effectively with people who are experiencing a deterioration in their mental wellbeing.
- Develop a skill set focussed on health beliefs, determinants, communication skills and resilience.
