What you will study

In An introduction to the theory and practice of archaeology and fieldwork course offered by University of Cambridge , pre excavation analysis such as the use of air photography and archival research will be followed by an outline of the use of geophysical, LIDAR and field walking surveys which suggest where to excavate. This will be followed by the coverage of a range of excavation techniques dealing with the processes of digging. Finally post excavation analysis and finds and object identification will be covered through a practical session that will allow participants to the handle objects from all periods.
