Overview
Teaching and learning
- This course in Legal Translation offered by Middlesex University is taught online over seven weeks via a mixture of self-study activities including timed translations, webinars, self-and peer assessment and feedback on translations from bilingual tutors and individual practice and reading.
- All teaching and learning is delivered online via MyLearning, the Middlesex University Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
- A PC or laptop with audio output.
- An internet connection supporting live synchronous chat and online conferencing.
- The ability to produce word-processed documents using the relevant fonts for your non-English language (available in most languages in the Windows or Mac operating systems).
- Core teaching will take place on Fridays from 10.00am to 12.30pm. Tutorials with language tutors will be arranged by you and your tutor at a suitable time.
Programme Structure
Assessment- Formative assessment: A 500-word translation and a 700-word reflective analysis on the translation in Week 2, 3 and 4
- Summative assessment: A 750-word translation and a 1000-word reflective analysis on the translation in Week 6
