What you will study
Over the Public Procurement Law - The Rules in Practice course offered by York University , you will apply critical concepts in interactive workshops. In small groups, you will work with real-life case scenarios and have the chance to develop and refine your skills in a zero-consequence, supportive learning environment. Specifically, you will have the chance to develop a procurement strategy, handle a bid dispute, edit and review an RFx document and get feedback from course instructors.

- Public procurement rules and risks, including overview of procurement law and analysis of trade agreements
- Principles in strategic sourcing and the procurement process
- Strategies for developing the procurement strategy
- How to collaborate and participate in buying groups
- Critical trends in public procurement law and practice, including innovation in IT procurement
- Tips, knowledge and strategies when preparing the RFx
- How to administer the competitive process, including supplier relations, evaluation and selection
- How to incorporate active evaluation phases
- Techniques to establish and use multi-supplier lists
- Principles and tactics in standardization and multi-phase projects
