If you work with older adults and want to do so more effectively, this program at the University of Manitoba is for you. It was designed for teachers/educators, support/health care workers, therapists and others working with older adults.
Facilitating Older Adult Learning was created in consultation with Manitoba’s experts on aging, including the Centre on Aging at the University of Manitoba, the Manitoba Association of Seniors Communities (MASC), Creative Retirement Manitoba, and select Canadian universities with programs for older adults. MASC supports this program and believes it will provide a better understanding of the aging process and the learning styles and needs of older adult learners.
Learn how to articulate the developmental lifespan on older adults and its influence on learning. Determine how to evaluate and select appropriate learning technologies for supporting effective older adult learning. Understand the key components to older adult learning and apply these principles in your professional context.

- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent, or mature student status. If primary language is not English, proof of English proficiency is required.
- Learners with 1 (one) or more years of university courses outside of the University of Manitoba must provide an official transcript.
