What you will learn
Here is a sampling of what you will learn during the Health and Wellness in the Workplace course offered by University of Ottawa :
- Identify the basic signs of the most common mental health disorders in yourself and others and build communication skills to discuss wellness openly, non-judgmentally and with empathy to break down stigma and shame;
- Understand how boundaries are used to say ‘no’ and learn six practices and tools to cultivate boundaries that serve your best self;
- Strengthen your resilience and wellbeing by increasing self-awareness, mental clarity and focus and explore strategies to better manage physical, mental and emotional wellbeing;
- Identify the external and internal sources of stress and ward off stress and negative energy around you; and,
- Learn how to work with difficult emotions, the importance of mindfulness of body, feelings and mind, and nourishing practices of self-compassion, loving kindness and mindful speech.
