Overview
Key Features
Drones have become the most accessible way of capturing detailed aerial images – did you know drone technology can also help us to see the invisible?
From monitoring the health of crops and pastures, to monitoring landslides and coastal erosion, UAS remote sensing has become a powerful tool in our approach to environmental monitoring. The University of Tasmania Terraluma Research team is providing a unique opportunity for participants to learn how to turn their drone into a powerful remote sensing tool. You will advance your skills by learning specialised knowledge such as; choosing the most appropriate sensor, conducting high-precision aerial surveys, and converting your data into accurate, ultra-high resolution maps.
This Drone Remote Sensing and Mapping course at University of Tasmania contains approximately 10 hours of content that you can view at your own pace during the next 12 months. If you do require a RePL, we recommend Remote Aviation as a training provider who can offer a discount to course attendees.
