Lean is a business strategy that ensures existing practices and processes are simplified and efficient. The approach is underpinned by a way of thinking, or a mindset, that focuses on continuous improvement (CI), people, customers, and minimising waste.Waste includes factors such as errors that must be fixed, items that have been produced but are not wanted, process steps that are not needed, the movement of people or goods that is not purposeful, waiting, and goods and services that do not meet the customer’s needs.
