This Communication Skills and Delivering Unexpected News workshop at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) is aimed at ultrasound practitioners who want to develop specialised skills so that they can respond both practically and emotionally to parents' needs.

Overview

It will provide opportunities to develop the skills needed to give sensitive care to patients, explore ways of delivering unexpected news following a diagnosis of fetal anomaly as well as equip sonographers with the tools and techniques to be prepared for giving unexpected news with compassion and kindness.

This full day of lectures will be delivered by University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) Lecturers, the Lily Mae Foundation Charity (a UK registered charity who provide support to parents and families who have lost a baby to stillbirth, neonatal death and medical termination) and the ARC (Antenatal Results Choices) Charity .
