Overview
Key facts
The Circular Economy, estimated to be worth $4.5 trillion to our global economy, has quickly taken hold amongst global industry leaders and innovative start-ups worldwide. Examples include General Motors who, whilst increasing their gross profit by 50%, have reduced material use by 90% by recovering and re-manufacturing reused components, unlocking $1 billion previously wasted value by transforming material management in manufacturing, and Air BnB who have disrupted the hotel industry by creating a $10 billion business based on the use of existing, unused assets (Lacy and Rutqvist, 2015).This course will inspire innovators, entrepreneurs and business leaders to develop new ways of creating value from the transition towards a circular economy. You will be introduced to multiple models of circular innovation across various business functions and sectors and supported to develop your own value proposition to transform an existing business or to create a new circular venture.
Cranfield University's Circularity in Practice programme will teach you more about this topic.
