Overview
Key facts
This course aims to establish the inherent principles that structure space from a sensorial point of view. Based on notions of the physiology of the senses, psychology of space, and mindfulness, we will explore our ability to develop an attitude of attention and vigilance to our presence in space. Students will explore the sensory perception of space based on their personal experience throughout the corporal senses. The objective is to examine how we interact with our built and natural environment to integrate these dimensions into the creative process of future projects.
Paris College of Art's Sensorial Space Design programme will teach you more about this topic.
Programme Structure
- A series of sensorial exercises will help to affine the awareness of our sense perception (touch, smell, hearing, sight, taste, thermoception, etc.), our emotions (curiosity, fear, boredom, joy, etc.), the details of our environment (materials, light, proportions, colors, sound, etc.) and the way it influences us.
