Overview
The course is taught by academic experts from a range of disciplines, and is led by the Green Healthcare Hub, a world leading research centre for environmental sustainability established at BSMS in 2025.Our PG Cert provides an overview of this nascent field of enquiry, as well as skills analysis of environmental footprint of health systems, processes and pathways, and the tools and mechanisms to support change.
Programme Structure
The course is modular and designed to fit around work schedules. Modules are taught in-person at our Falmer campus to maximise learning opportunities and peer-group interaction.All modules within the programme are also available as standalone options for those seeking Continuing Professional Development (CPD). If you prefer to take individual modules without committing to a full postgraduate qualification, you are welcome to apply for these separately.The course covers topics including: understanding climate change; climate resilience; medical goods; pharmaceuticals; transport; estates; carbon footprinting and life-cycle analysis. To support the change leaders, we also include topics on ecological economics, policy change, and leadership.
