Overview
Learners of the English Language Gap Year - Semester Abroad programme from Griffith College have an opportunity to choose academic modules carefully selected from Griffith College’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, they can then support these choices with 15 hours of English in our language institute.

Competency in the English Language is a requirement in most professions in Ireland, as well as abroad. Successful completion of a Griffith Institute of Language (GIL) English for General Purposes Programme will give students an advantage in whatever career path they choose to pursue.
Programme Structure
- If you choose the gap year or semester abroad programme, you are able to choose modules from our extensive range of degree programmes and support them with 15 hours of English in the language school.
- This programme is designed to maximise your exposure to authentic language in your specific areas of academic and/or personal interest, all the while increasing your direct language development via 15 hours of contact time in our language school.
- It is the most immersive programme and provides direct opportunities to interact with native speakers in lectures and tutorials.
