Overview
The Flute Day with Carla Rees workshop at Royal Academy of Music will provide a chance to try out some of Carla’s arrangements for flute ensemble, explore the potential of low flutes, work on technique and sound production and enjoy playing with others in one of the Academy’s performance spaces.
Course preparation
- If you would like to perform in a masterclass, please prepare a piece of unaccompanied repertoire on any size of flute.
- Please bring any flutes you’d like to play on the day, along with any questions or problems you’d like to solve on the day.

- This course is suitable for relatively advanced players, with a recommended minimum level of around ABRSM Grade 7. Reasonably good sightreading skills will be helpful.
