The course has two main and related objectives: firstly, developing participants' own soft skills as a teaching professional; secondly, developing the pedagogical skills to teach soft skills successfully to learners.

At the end of the course, you will:- have increased your understanding of what soft skills are, and their importance in English language teaching
- have explored the Core24 curriculum of key people skills developed by York Associates, which covers such areas as emotional intelligence, rapport building, influencing and leadership skills
- have considered the ethical challenges which arise when teaching soft skills
- have useful tools to make your classroom environment safe when teaching soft skills
- have developed your own soft skills in areas highly relevant for you personally.
