The aim of this Psychological Skills Training course at Oxford Brookes University is to equip you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to develop supportive and therapeutic relationships with your patients or clients.
It will introduce you to counselling skills and advanced psychological techniques including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing.

The 6 learning units in this course are:- communication: process and context
- working with difficult situations
- working with families and organisations
- psychological approaches to relationships 1: Counselling and the caring relationship
- psychological approaches to relationships 2: CBT and Motivational Interviewing
- self-care, boundaries and supervision
